The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Supply Base Management Specialist, to provide technical supply chain expertise, planning, production support and supplier integration into the advanced production facility in Melbourne. This position plays an essential role providing supply chain support and supplier integration to meet the production system requirements for the MQ-28 Ghost Bat production line. This position requires close collaboration with key stakeholders to ensure supply chain compliance and, ultimately, part availability to support the production line. This role is located Melbourne Australia.
Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates supplier/subcontractor business relationships, in-service requirements and performance to contractual obligations and expectations.
  • Develops and participates in the implementation of supply base plans to support production, program and commodity strategies.
  • Analyzes and monitors supplier quality, delivery and financial performance data to identify risks, issues and opportunities.
  • Develops mitigation plans.
  • Identifies and participates in supplier and production improvement activities.
  • Identifies and participates in business and costs savings initiatives.
  • Produce supply chain status reports for production readiness.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for best solutions to minimise shortage impacts on production schedules.
  • Provide support to production enquiries relating to stock availability, system processes and forecast requirements.
  • Forecast supply chain risks, impacts and provide mitigation plans to proactively manage.
  • Identify and investigate items impacting aircraft production schedules.

Experience/Qualifications:
  • A sound understanding of Supply Chain methodology and processes.
  • Knowledge and experience of customer's/supplier's organization, processes, policies and procedures, products, requirements, capabilities, practices, support resources, preferences, constraints.
  • Knowledge and experience of responsibilities and tasks performed by various procurement departments/disciplines. Knowledge of the interactions between departments/disciplines and how their products/processes affect one another and impact non-Procurement processes (e.g., Engineering, Business, Operations, Logistics.
  • Knowledge, experience and understanding of the methodology and processes associated with risk management (including Technology Readiness Assessments), opportunity management, and issues management.
  • Ability to identify, establish and promote supply process improvements.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling open and effective communication among stakeholders.
  • Competent in the use of PC, MS Windows and MS Office suite.
  • Defence Industry experience will be highly regarded.
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet NV1 security clearance requirements.
