About the role
Sydney Airport is Australia’s busiest and most connected airport, and we’re on a mission to deliver a world-class experience for every passenger. As part of our Group Operations team—the largest at SYD—you’ll play a key role in ensuring our commercial platforms run smoothly and support the airport’s strategic goals of service, efficiency, and innovation.
This is a dynamic, hands-on role where you’ll provide application, and systems support across a range of commercial technologies—from car park billing systems to digital signage and online booking platforms. You’ll be a trusted partner to internal teams and external vendors, helping to drive operational excellence and continual improvement across the airport ecosystem.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to
- Support a suite of operational applications including car park systems, ground transport platforms, and digital commercial tools.
- Act as a subject matter expert to investigate and resolve system issues, ensuring platform resilience and reliability.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and technology partners to deliver quality outcomes and cost efficiencies.
- Capture and document business requirements to drive innovation and enhance passenger experience.
- Assist with vendor management, including reviewing statements of work and ensuring service levels are met.
- Participate in on-call support as part of a rostered system for emergency and maintenance needs.
About you
- You have 5+ years’ experience in IT, including 3+ years in application support, ideally within transport or commercial operations.
- You bring strong knowledge of IT systems, business processes, and digital field technologies (e.g. sensors, signage, billing).
- You’re confident working with SQL and have experience in service delivery, performance monitoring, and vendor management.
- You’re a collaborative team player with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- You thrive in fast-paced environments and are motivated by continuous improvement and delivering great outcomes.
- You hold a tertiary qualification in Technology or Business and ideally have ITIL experience.
