About the role:

We are seeking a proactive and organised Sustainability Manager to join our team on a 14-month fixed-term contract to cover a maternity leave. This role is critical to ensure ongoing engagement, continuity and momentum in delivering JCDecaux’s ESG strategy across Australia and New Zealand.

Reporting initially to the Head of ESG, you will work closely with key internal stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team, to ensure coordination, implementation, and robust reporting of environmental, social, and governance initiatives across the business. You will be responsible for keeping our ESG roadmap on track and helping to maintain strong internal engagement, meeting reporting deadlines and key project delivery milestones. You will drive implementation of sustainability impact, and communications projects. 

 

A Day in the Life:

Whilst there’s no typical day in the dynamic world of media, you can expect your role to involve the following:

  • Coordinate delivery of ESG strategy - in alignment with locally set strategies and global objectives.
  • Reporting – lead the quarterly reporting process to meet corporate and local requirements, ensuring consistency and data quality.
  • Stakeholder Engagement - Liaise with internal stakeholders who are leading strategic components of the ESG program to facilitate progress, performance updates, and collaboration.
  • Communications – lead updates to internal stakeholders and the wider business, support external communications opportunities, support tender writing process, and lead the annual sustainability statement process.
  • Ensure continuity - in key ESG programs and processes during the maternity leave period, identifying and escalating any risks or blockers to progress.
  • Support - Provide organisational and project support to ESG-related working groups and initiatives.
  • Sustainability ‘point of call’ – be the main point of contact for both local and corporate sustainability inquiries
  • Coordination of key deliverables – such as the ESG budget process
  • Support & engage sales team – Sales team to activate and promote JCDecaux’s sustainability credentials and products

 

About You:

You’ll have demonstrated experience (min 6 years) in sustainability or closely related field. As well as:

  • Track record managing sustainability reporting process and project delivery
  • Familiarity and experience with ESG reporting process, data management, and frameworks
  • Strong educational or practical experience in wide range of sustainability topics
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills
  • Analytical mindset and approach
  • Clear communicator with experience engaging and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to maintain momentum across multiple workstreams.
