Perpetual Group is an ASX-listed company (ASX:PPT) headquartered in Sydney, Australia, currently consisting of 11 leading brands across three distinct businesses: Asset Management, Wealth Management and Corporate Trust.  

An exciting opportunity to be part of the wider Perpetual Wealth Management (PWM) business as a Sustainability Manager. The role focuses on supporting the development, implementation and measurement of PWM’s Sustainability Strategy both as a business and with respect to its Responsible Investment (RI) and Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) product suite.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of Product and Marketing PWM, the newly created position of Sustainability Manager, PWM is responsible for developing and implementing the sustainability strategy for PWM and the ongoing measurement and reporting against the strategy. Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement a sustainability strategy and plan for PWM in preparation for separation and consistent with the Perpetual Group strategy, covering key material issues, considering external frameworks and creating KPIs, targets and an action plan with appropriate internal governance to implement the strategy over time.

  • Lead the program for sustainability related disclosures and drive continuous improvement of sustainability performance disclosures including for product offer documents and related disclosures.

  • Reporting on product related ESG and RI matters with Compliance committees and associated boards.

  • Work with group sustainability and finance resources on providing PWM positioning on policies and procedures and understanding requirements for a separated PWM business.

  • Lead and manage the PWM efforts to prevent and address modern slavery within its operations and supply chain (including investments).

  • Develop and update as appropriate a PWM Modern Slavery Framework including that it ensures compliance with the relevant legislation.

  • Participate in key ESG working groups and provide advice/support as appropriate – e.g. drafting of position statements, publication of Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

About You:

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A minimum of 8 years experience. A background in Financial Services highly regarded

  • An experienced sustainability professional with a strong background in development of sustainability strategies, reporting and supporting the management of ESG Risk

  • Familiarity with local ESG regulations, and an ability to keep up with emerging policies impacting corporate sustainability

  • An advocate for sustainability, the role of business and the benefits of strong ESG governance

  • Experience in advising senior internal stakeholders and engaging with external advocacy and stakeholder groups

  • Ability to research, analyse and interpret data to create reports

  • Strong communication and written skills
