Role OverviewBased in our Sydney office, this role will serve as the lead recruiter supporting ESR Australia’s continued growth.
You will manage end-to-end recruitment across the full breadth of our business—from technical development and construction professionals to corporate functions including finance, legal, and investment. The role requires close partnership with business leaders to support a dynamic portfolio of logistics, industrial, and real asset developments.
Success in this role requires strong capability in project-driven hiring, navigating commercially sensitive timelines, and operating within stakeholder-led environments. You will work closely with hiring managers to define requirements, drive efficient recruitment processes, and deliver a high-quality candidate experience.
Experience recruiting within the property, real estate, development, or construction ecosystem will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities1. End-to-End Recruitment Management- Project & Development Portfolio: Lead the search for critical delivery roles across Australia, such as Development Managers, Project Managers, who shape and execute our asset pipeline.
- Corporate & Finance Excellence: Own hiring across corporate functions, ensuring we maintain a high-caliber bench across finance, legal, and operational leadership.
- Executive & Niche Search: Partner with senior leadership to deliver complex and critical mandates, such as Investments and Fund Management roles.
- Active Talent Mapping: Operate as a true headhunter—mapping competitors, engaging passive talent, and leveraging LinkedIn Recruiter and industry networks in a highly competitive Sydney market.
- Benchmarking & Advisory: Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers by providing data-led insights on compensation benchmarks, talent availability, and competitor hiring trends across the Australian real estate sector.
- Employer Branding: Act as a brand ambassador, articulating ESR’s "New Economy" vision and ESR Values to attract high-quality talent—often before they are actively exploring opportunities.
- ATS & Data Discipline: Maintain best-in-class governance within Workable, ensuring pipeline integrity, accurate reporting, and efficient candidate movement across all stages.
- Agency Management: Elevate and manage external recruitment partners, ensuring strong brand representation, disciplined fee control, and delivery of high-quality, relevant shortlists.
RequirementsAcademic and/or Professional Qualifications
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–4 years of progressive recruitment experience, ideally split between a high-performing agency and an in-house corporate environment in the Real Estate industry
- Sector Versatility: Proven experience recruiting across both Property Development and Corporate Functions (Finance, Legal, and Tech).
- Sydney & Regional Insight: Deep knowledge of the Australian talent market, specifically within Sydney, with experience managing interstate roles (Melbourne/Brisbane).
- Technical Sourcing: Expert-level proficiency in LinkedIn Recruiter and proactive search; you must be comfortable reaching out to high-level passive talent.
- Stakeholder Gravitas: The confidence to advise and challenge senior leaders (C-Suite, Directors) on hiring decisions and market realities.
- Real Asset Acumen: A solid understanding of the development lifecycle (from Land Acquisition to Construction and Leasing).
- Finance Fluency: Familiarity with the specific qualifications and "pedigree" required for high-level Finance and Tax roles in Australia.
- System Experience: Prior experience with Workable or similar data-centric Applicant Tracking Systems.
