The Talent Business Partner (TBP) is a People team representative assigned to a specified group of Thoughtworkers (TWers), whose role is to consult with leaders in these areas on people-related issues, such as employee relations topics and engagement initiatives. Additionally, regular people activities, e.g. probation, performance, compensation, promotions, offboarding etc. Supporting leaders with other personal & professional challenges that TWers may have.

This TBP will work alongside another ANZ TBP, and is a part of the broader APAC People team. The TBP will receive support from People Shared Services and our global centre of excellence functions. 

At time of application, you must be an Australian/ New Zealand Citizen or already hold Australian Permanent Residency.

Job responsibilities

  • Act as the primary people team contact for the areas they support. Provide direct support for complex people issues, and signpost to the relevant operational teams where appropriate.
  • Be a point of contact for People related operational matters for ANZ offices.
  • Partner with Client Leadership Team (Account Leaders) and other leaders. Offering guidance, resolving people issues including employee relations, performance. management, conflict management, change management, employee engagement, retention, compensation etc. Leverage workforce data to share valuable insights with leadership, to help make informed decisions and identify focus areas needing attention.
  • Educate and provide interpretation on local, regional and global policies, procedure, and compliance. 
  • Take the lead on regular people activities, including compensation reviews, performance process and promotions. Design and implement talent management practices and employee engagement initiatives in line with business and business unit goals.
  • Lead People induction, probation and offboarding process. 
  • Work closely with the global/regional people functions to coordinate and execute global programs and initiatives at a POH and/or local level.
  • Coordinate with other regional TBPs to shape consistent approaches to people processes across APAC.
  • Act as an ambassador of TW's culture seeking opportunities for developing it, and promotes DEl and wellbeing initiatives, helping create a healthy, safe and positive workplace.
  • Act as a champion of the Code of Conduct.

Job qualifications

Professional Skills
  • 4+ years of full-life cycle HR business partner experience, IT industry / Internet industry / consulting industry experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional and passionate about people and curious about high performing organizations and individuals.
  • Demonstrable experience of Australia labour law, employee relations and strong business partnering. New Zealand labour law experience, preferred.
  • Experience working through organisational change periods.
  • Comfortable with people data and analytics.
  • Can think commercially and prioritize accordingly; driven by challenging the status quo and striving for continuous improvement.
  • Teamwork: Being able to work with a wide variety of people to lead by example. Passionate to help others.
  • Strong adaptability: able to cooperate with a variety of opinions in an uncertain environment.
  • Flexibility: Comfortable accepting errors, handling conflicts, and engaging in crucial conversations.
