About role:

We're looking for a Tax Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will oversee both direct and indirect tax compliance, provide strategic tax advice, and support senior management on projects related to business growth. The Tax Accountant also contributes to continuous improvements in our systems and processes, making this an impactful position with room for professional development.

What will you do?

  • Prepare and lodge monthly BAS and IAS, annual FBT return, and Payment Time Reporting for the company.
  • Conduct high-level payroll tax reviews for relevant states.
  • Collaborate with Deloitte for ITR and CbC reporting lodgments.
  • Maintain the company's tax framework and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Liaise with ATO and external tax advisors on various tax issues.
  • Organize tax update meetings and communicate updates to the board of directors.
  • Prepare quarterly tax provision summaries and reconcile “Return to Provision” reports for the Global Tax team.
  • Strict adherence to group reporting deadlines.
  • Compliance with internal and external tax policies.
  • Assist the GL team with annual statutory accounts and SOX compliance.
  • Post fortnightly payroll journals.
  • Perform tax-related balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Provide support on various ad-hoc tasks to the finance team.
  • Apply judgment in GL coding for minor entries. For significant or complex transactions, consult with peers or management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all tax compliance work.

What experiences & competencies do you bring?

  • CA or CPA certification is essential.
  • Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of international tax regulations.
  • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and assess materiality effectively.
  • Experience in a high-volume, complex industry environment.
