Manage ANZ tax compliance and provide advisory support, including review of GST and tax returns, managing audits, and providing technical tax advice.
Tax Manager, ANZ, will be responsible for supervising ANZ tax compliance for Assurant group entities in Australia and New Zealand, across all indirect and direct taxes, as well as providing tax advisory support to the business. This role will report into the Tax Director, APAC, with a dotted line reporting to the Finance Director, ANZ. This will include:
- Review of Australian GST computations, returns and tax payments for group entities in Australia and New Zealand
- Extensive review and evaluation of GST matters relating to the availment of GST input credits, Div 66 credits, reviewing appropriateness of RCTIs, etc.
- Review and lodgement of BAS, PAYG and FBT returns
- Management of tax audits, reviews and investigations by the Australian or New Zealand revenue authorities and dealing with any tax notices or queries raised
- Review and/or preparation of year-end/ monthly tax workings, disclosure notes etc. required for corporate tax purposes
- Providing tax technical advice (covering Australian and New Zealand income tax, GST and employment taxes) and support to the various business units within the Assurant Group, in consultation with the Group Tax team
- Liaise with external consultants in relation to a wide range of tax compliance and consulting matters
- Provide tax technical advice to various internal functions (e.g. finance, M&A and legal) for critical tax issues
- Active involvement and support in respect of group simplification initiatives and M&A transactions
- Assistance in finalization/ preparation and lodgement of various forms, elections and applications to the ATO & IR (e.g. changes within the tax consolidated group, Certificates of Residence etc.)
