About Repeat Builders

Repeat Builders is a Sydney venture builder running about five ventures a year, each on fixed, funded runway. Unlike an accelerator or a fund, we start at the idea itself: every idea is validated through our own research and scoring before a founder is engaged, so you begin from evidence rather than a hunch. We stay embedded while you build, and we build with AI across every venture, so the team around you already works the way you do.

The opportunity

You'll be the technical co-founder of one of our ventures. It arrives with a validated MVP and real demand behind it, whether a waiting list or early customers willing to pay, and it becomes yours to build.

Many of the ventures we build run on data that isn't theirs: financial, property or location data, drawn from sources you don't control and have to make reliable. Others depend on AI that must be right, and sometimes has to answer in real time. Your job is to turn that into product people rely on, with a co-founder alongside you and Repeat Builders behind you all.

What you will own
  • Ship a working product surface fast enough to get real market feedback inside the first sprint cycle.

  • Build the data layer the product depends on: ingesting, cleaning and joining third-party data well enough that customers can trust what the product tells them.

  • Make AI work in production, including where it has to respond in real time and where a wrong answer costs the customer.

  • Make the build, buy or AI-assist call on every significant technical decision, including the harder judgement of when an AI-assisted path is faster in practice and when it only looks faster.

  • Stand up the engineering foundation a small team runs on, from the repo to CI/CD, before anyone else is there to set it.

  • Turn validated demand into shipped, tested product, working with your co-founder and Repeat Builders and adjusting as user feedback replaces assumption.

  • Hire and lead the first engineers as the company grows past what one founder can build.

What you will bring: essential
  • Full-stack ability, proven by product you have shipped and people use. You built it somewhere demanding, a fast-growing startup or a strong engineering team, whatever the size or brand of the company.

  • Data engineering in production. Pipelines, integrations or ingestion you built and kept running, ideally on data you didn't control. Most of our ventures live or die on getting this right.

  • AI has changed how you build, not just how you talk about it. You reach for coding and agent tools daily, and you know where they earn their keep and where they get in the way.

  • A significant technical or product decision you made on incomplete information and owned through to its outcome.

Non-essential, specialist skills

These strengthen an application. None is required.

  • Real-time or low-latency systems: streaming, voice, or anything where response time is part of the product.

  • LLM features shipped to real users, including the evaluation and guardrails that keep them honest.

  • Running what you've built: reliability, on-call, and the unglamorous work of keeping a system up once people depend on it.

  • Experience in a regulated or data-sensitive domain, such as finance, compliance or property, where accuracy is the product.

If you clear most of this and the rest of this ad speaks to you, apply. The things that make you unusual belong in the application, not on a checklist.

Why this role

The deal, up front. Most founder conversations start with two questions: how do we pay ourselves, and how do we raise. Both are settled before you begin.

  • A$3m of committed capital per venture, roughly two years of focused runway.

  • 30% equity for the founding team. Genuine founder ownership, not an employee option grant, allocated across however many founders the venture calls for.

  • You control the budget. Founder salaries are paid from the A$3m, and the founders set them, alongside every other cost, in a business plan Repeat Builders does not write for you.

What has held you back, removed by design. Going solo is daunting without co-founders you trust. Bootstrapping is hard, and raising a first round is harder. The idea is validated before you arrive, the capital is committed, and Repeat Builders decodes each venture to work out the founder mix it needs, then matches people whose skills complement each other and the product.

The support is the point. An AI-native company operating system (the playbooks, decision frameworks, governance and tooling every venture runs on), embedded support across product, hiring and strategy, and a shared office at Tech Central alongside a community of founders, operators and investors. Our involvement is heaviest at the start and tapers as the company builds its own capability.

The two-year arc. We take the idea to a validated MVP. You take it from there: year one to product in market and measurable traction, year two to raising the next round on its own strength and running independently of us. Success is measured by traction, not activity.

What you need to know about the Sydney Tech Scene

From opera to comedy shows, the Sydney Opera House hosts more than 1,600 performances a year, yet its entertainment sector isn't the only one taking center stage. The city's tech sector has earned a reputation as one of the fastest-growing in the region. More specifically, its IT sector stands out as the country's third-largest, growing at twice the rate of overall employment in the past decade as businesses continue to digitize their operations to stay competitive.
