The Role
As a Technical Consultant, you will be the primary point of contact for customers and internal team members. The role will require both a strong technical ability as well as program management skills. Some projects will require you to lead standard solution implementations, managing what has been planned, as well as handling issues, changes, and identifying and mitigating risks for successful project implementations.
You will lead the documentation of program scope and requirements along with the development of a project plan and timeline for the program. Throughout the implementation you establish and manage customer expectations and coordinate project activities and resources to deliver customer programs on time and in-scope. On other projects you will be responsible for the technical design, solution development, and postimplementation consulting and administration of solutions and programs on the Forsta platforms.
You will provide detailed technical design and specification of solutions. When necessary, you will work with the Solution Architects and Product Management teams for solutions that require development of custom components.
You’ll also be responsible for Post-implementation activities that include on-going technical expertise and support of accounts; building relationships with client business and technical users; conducting platform training sessions; managing outsourced vendor relationships; management, consulting and administration of solutions for clients who have contracted with Forsta for deployment and administration services; and working with other Technical Delivery teams and occasionally third party offshore and onshore partners.
This role will require and challenge you to:
- Collaborate with customer and internal team to collect and document the program requirements
- Follow the framework and guardrails set by the global PMO, utilizing standard tools and reporting
- Develop the project plan and schedule; may work under the guidance of senior team members
- Request and direct the resources needed to deliver the program on time and in-scope
- Provide project governance; control the project plan and manage the change request process
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation plans; may work under the guidance of senior team members
- Lead collaboration efforts to resolve program issues as they arise
- Maintain up to date project documentation
- Act as the technical point of contact with the customer and other Forsta project team members
- Assess client technical requirements and provide viable solutions
- Develop technical specifications
- Lead the development and deployment process working with the program management team
- Adhere to Forsta and customer’s processes in place for project governance and delivery
- Work with clients to integrate Forsta technologies into their business applications
- Manage and conduct solutions QA
- Assist with client UAT
- Provide solutions administration and overall on-going technical services as required for the client solution (Post Implementation Consulting):
- Build a relationship with client management and team members
- Assist with managing services project budget
- Work with team members, on multiple accounts, managing all aspects of the ongoing post implementation solution services
- Manage change and resolve conflicts that can impact services and operation of the client solution
- Assess client business requirements and provide viable solutions
- Describe solutions to clients on how to integrate Forsta into their business
- Provide Forsta platform training and knowledge transfer
- Work with the Pre-Sales team and Solution Architects for development and delivery of technical presentations in-person or online
- Report to Director or Senior Director, Technical Delivery
- For project development activities report to the assigned Program/Project Manager
- Follow company security and privacy policies and related procedures, and ensure proper safeguarding of information and data made accessible to you
- Travel approximately 20% of the time
What you bring:
- Previous customer-facing experience along with technical and business assessment skills and the ability to articulate the value of technical solutions from a business perspective
- Knowledge of standard consulting operational processes, strong presentation skills and project delivery management experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline; relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year for year basis
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a similar role
- Proficient with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook)
- Working knowledge with Jscript /JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Experience integrating to a system using API’s
- Working knowledge of JSON, webhooks and Endpoints
- Forsta platforms and /or other comparable product experience
- Experience in working with data manipulation and process with different data formats (e.g., SPSS, CSV, Triple S, etc.)
- Data Visualization and/or Graphic Design a plus
- Ability to intelligently converse about required business concepts and technologies with clients, vendors, and internal team members
- Demonstrated successful proposal development and presentation skills including excellent oral and written communication ability
- Tact and diplomacy in internal and external interactions and possesses foundational skills in the areas of team building, negotiation, and conflict resolution
