Unique opportunity to join the RBA's Payments Operations Program, to design and develop the Knowledge Management framework, processes and systems for Australia's national payments infrastructure and other critical IT and business systems
About the business/role/team
This is a unique opportunity for you to join the Reserve Bank’s Payments Operations Program, which is leading the Bank's work to strengthen its operation of RITS, Australia's real-time gross settlement system, and other critical national payments infrastructure. These payments systems move around $300 billion dollars between financial institutions each day and ultimately settle all non-cash payments in Australia. They are essential for supporting the day-to-day business of the Australian economy.
You will be part of the Knowledge Management and Training workstream for the Payments Operations Program, working as the knowledge management expert to help to drive the uplift in the Bank's knowledge management processes and systems.
The Payments Operations Program is a large, business led program which is working to: uplift the operating model and resourcing for the RITS ecosystem; strengthen shared services processes and IT controls that support RITS and related systems; and improve knowledge management processes and systems and related training programs for staff supporting RITS.
About the role
Work with the Knowledge Management and Training workstream lead and Program management to drive the design and delivery of the workstream. The key deliverables for the workstream are uplifted knowledge management framework, processes and procedures for RITS and other operational areas, uplifted knowledge management system, review and uplift of RITS related knowledge artefacts; and updated training program for staff working on RITS.
Be the knowledge management expert on the POP team, working closely with the broader workstream team, an external professional services firm and relevant staff in Payments Settlements, IT and Knowledge departments.
Significant engagement with senior managers and executives in Payments Settlements, IT and Knowledge departments.
You will have previous experience working in a similar role as a knowledge management expert in organisations running critical business and IT operations.
Reporting to the Knowledge Management and Training workstream lead, you will also enjoy working and collaborating with multiple high performing teams committed to team goals and deliverables
About you
Expertise in the design and implementation of knowledge management systems and processes for critical business and IT operations
Strategic thinking to align knowledge management activities with organisational goals and risk posture for organisations running critical business and IT operations
Knowledge asset identification and mapping across systems, processes and teams
Content development and curation for strategic, operational and record keeping purposes
Stakeholder engagement and communication across executive, delivery and support teams
Governance and compliance awareness including record keeping, data and information governance and audit requirements
Collaboration and continuous improvement with PS, IT and KM departments
Key experience for the role:
Proven experience in knowledge management within organizations operating critical IT or other infrastructure. Ideally also have some experience working on large-scale technology or transformation programs
Background in information governance, records management or enterprise content management
Experience working in cross-functional teams including IT, operations, risk and compliance
Demonstrated success in embedding knowledge management practices into BAU operations
Exposure to regulated environments preferred, especially where decision traceability and operational resilience is critical
Strong communication and writing skills with proven stakeholder management experience
Experience at prioritising and working in a deadline-oriented environment
Strong team player to work with multiple collaborative teams is essential
Familiarity of banking or payment systems is desirable
Your Team
Reporting to the Knowledge Management and Training Workstream Lead and Project Director - Business, you will be part of a small team of five staff who collaborate effectively to achieve their team deliverables and goals. You would also be part of the broader Payments Operations Program, which has a team of 40-50 staff.
