The role:
The role of a Tech Lead is pivotal in supporting the delivery of our Domain Strategy by driving innovation and ensuring the development of high-quality software solutions. By leveraging advanced technical skills and a deep understanding of software engineering principles, leads and contributes to creating robust, scalable, and efficient applications that align with our strategic goals. This role involves writing and reviewing code, as well as architecting solutions that meet current and future business needs, ensuring that Software Solutions supports the overall Domain vision.
In addition to technical expertise, the Tech Lead is crucial in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and Engineering excellence. By leading by example and providing support, this role helps build a robust and cohesive team capable of tackling complex challenges and delivering high-quality software products.
The Tech Lead is pivotal to the development team’s success through:
Working with stakeholders to guide delivery
Coaching and mentoring their people
Hand-on coding at least 50% of the time
Be a champion for and drive best-practice engineering
Driving and shaping technical implementation
The Off-Network team is responsible for Domain Group’s digital marketing innovation, powering the next generation of property advertising beyond our own platforms. We are the engine behind Domain’s off-network products. Think high-impact campaigns on Facebook, Instagram, Google, and other leading digital channels. Our mission is to make every off-network campaign smarter, more transparent, and more effective for our customers.
What Success Looks LikeA cohesive and consistent user experience across all products, even under Drive technical excellence and innovation by building scalable, reliable solutions, championing engineering best practices, and continuously improving system health, delivery efficiency, and developer experience.
Own delivery and planning across short-term sprints and long-term roadmaps, guiding solution design, feature development, deployment, and hypercare.
Provide people leadership and mentorship, supporting performance, career development, and growth of engineers while building strong product and domain understanding.
Collaborate and manage stakeholders by partnering closely with Product and Design, and aligning with broader business and technology teams to deliver against roadmaps and OKRs.
Ensure operational excellence through incident response, on-call support, system maintenance, and proactive improvements to reduce incidents over time.
Experience
Deep expertise in C# / .Net
Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript
Experience designing global software solutions for scale
Experience working with Tech leads to optimise engineering practices and processes
Experience working with one of the common Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
Experience implementing DevOps practices and CI/CD
Experience working in Agile environments
Experience with Microservices architecture
Experience with relational and non-relational DBs
Understands shift-left testing and how to implement it in practice
Experience with direct people leadership responsibility, including performance management, coaching and career development.
Bonus:
Familiar with Cloud Design patterns
Familiar with TDD, BDD and Domain Driven design
Familiar with modern Application Security Practices (OWASP)
Familiar with Document and Relational data persistence models
Familiar with Functional and Object Oriented programming
Social Media APIs integration i.e. Meta and Google
Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering related field
