The Technical Product Owner - Customer Recovery and Disruptions partners closely with senior business stakeholders to provide a single point of accountability across the technology lifecycle of Plan, Build and Run for the Customer Recovery and Disruptions products and business capabilities, as well as their underlying platforms and technology components.

With Technology undertaking an ambitious 5 year strategic plan, the Technical Product Owner will play an essential role in developing and driving the roadmaps that will underpin the business strategy. They are accountable for aligning product delivery plans to enable the business to achieve their objectives & strategic outcomes – from concept through to operations. They manage and guide cross-functional squads and vendors to ensure features are delivered to commitments, and the products meet their service levels and are secure and resilient by design.

The Technical Product Owner is a true business partner and Technology leader, confident in communicating, influencing and negotiating with both business stakeholders and purely technical team members. They will bring product delivery skills and a service delivery mindset, with responsibility for managing a team onshore and a larger team virtually, driving continuous improvement and innovation. The role will manage the quality of service and operational stability, including IT risk and compliance management, delivering service improvements and managing suppliers and extended delivery teams of contractors.

You’ll have:

  • Senior product ownership experience with end‑to‑end accountability across product delivery, implementation and run.
  • 3+ years in implementation and project delivery roles.
  • 7-10 years' experience as a senior IT business partner and/or IT manager accountable for a portfolio of business-facing, operational applications.
  • Expert stakeholder management skills across both business and technical functions, establishing trusted relationships.
  • Confident in understanding technical architectures and documentation, and effectively communicate with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Solid experience in operational service management and service improvement.
  • Proven ability to apply analytical and critical thinking skills to solve, or lead the solving of, strategic problems of high complexity on a large scale.
  • Strong financial management, commercial and business acumen.
  • Strong people leadership skills and experience, embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Experience managing suppliers, negotiating contracts and running RFPs.
  • Ability to provide technical and commercial thought leadership across plan, build and run.
