We have an exciting opportunity at nbn, as Technical Specialist EMS and Security Operations reporting to Executive Manager EMS and Security Operations.

A bit about your role

The Technical Specialist EMS and Security Operations plays a critical role within the Network Engineering division, ensuring the availability, performance, and security of the active network. This position provides expert technical oversight of Element Management Systems (EMS), which are essential for network activation, assurance, and internal management.

Responsibilities include implementing security controls, performing OS patching and disaster recovery testing, managing incidents, deploying software upgrades, and maintaining configuration standards. As a subject matter expert, the specialist supports network operations and contributes to the delivery of high-quality, resilient solutions aligned with customer and infrastructure needs.

A bit about you

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in system administration, EMS platform operations, and network/service configuration, particularly within telecommunications environments. They possess hands-on expertise with tools such as VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, or Ansible, and have a proven ability to resolve complex incidents and perform system upgrades.

Familiarity with vendor applications like Nokia, Cisco EPNM, Incognito, or CommScope is essential, along with deep knowledge of EMS, application/database servers, and storage systems. Proficiency in operating systems like Red Hat Linux, Solaris, and Windows, along with relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP), is highly valued.
