The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced workers compensation expert to support the team to make legislatively sound decisions. As the Technical Specialist aligned to the team, you’ll work within a leadership triangle, providing coaching and direction for a team of Case Managers. You will deliver prompt and effective technical claims advice for the team while identifying opportunities to review, develop, and improve processes, procedures and guidelines to deliver for our customers.

Your new role

  • Delivering prompt and effective specialist technical claims advice  

  • Working together with the Injury Management Specialist and Service Manager to provide guidance and support to maximise outcomes. 

  • Ensure compliance with all legislation, industry codes and company policies. Actively monitor developments within the industry to continuously develop knowledge of insurance guidelines, policy changes and modifications. 

  • Identify opportunities to review, develop and modify processes, procedures, standards and guidelines that support innovation, improved performance and improved customer experience 

About you

  • Must have extensive experience in workers compensation case management with a passion for interpreting legislation, entitlements and claims strategy

  • Broad knowledge of workers compensation laws and compliance obligations with a core focus on legislative knowledge

  • Demonstrated experience in supporting Case Manager coaching, decision making and technical claims management

  • Self-motivated with organisational and communication skills

  • A person-centred approach to customer service and leadership

  • Exposure to small to medium size employers desirable
