About The Team:

The Markets Application Support Team provides first and second level technical support on all systems within the Markets Line of Business, this includes trading, Reference Data Management, Market surveillance, Market Announcements, Regulatory Feeds, Clearing, Risk and Margining systems.

About The Role:

This is a 6 Month Max Term Contract and will be responsible for ensuring stability, reliability and performance of critical applications in Clearing space by providing technical support, troubleshooting issues and managing incident resolution.

What You'll Do:

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provision of 2nd level technical support, documentation, building, testing and planning for projects for Clearing and Risk systems
  • Work with users from business areas such as Clearing and Risk systems/finance within ASX to resolve issues and provide information.
  • Completion of maintenance tasks, compilation of monthly reporting, and annual BCP testing
  • Participate in non-functional testing required by projects and software releases
  • Software installation and configuration of systems/environments that are supported within the team
  • The role will also include providing 24 x 7 on-call support and weekend/after-hour installations and upgrades
  • The scope of the role also includes incident, problem, release and change management, and undertaking BAU work within the team
What You'll Need: Must have
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role with previous markets experience is highly regarded.
  • Proven experience supporting critical applications using Cloud technologies (AWS)
  • Excellent knowledge of data handling (Oracle or SQL) including SQL scripting, Linux/UNIX OS, including RHEL, Windows Servers.
  • Securities industry experience such as understanding of exchange-traded futures and options, derivatives markets, and the business
  • processes related to clearing of member trades.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, self-motivation with the ability to multi-task and prioritise work with minimal supervision

Nice to have

  • Experience in Calypso trading platform
  • Programming and scripting skills with Cron, Powershell, Perl or Python
  • Technical experience in distributed transactions, high availability, performance-critical systems
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP networks to diagnose connectivity issues
  • Exposure to the standards, practices and procedures of the financial industry.
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools like ITRS Geneos, Splunk
