The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Telephony Technical Lead to join our team on a fixed-term contract through to January 2027. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the Bank’s strategic transformation of voice services, ensuring alignment with modern VOIP capabilities and Commonwealth Procurement Rules.

 

As the Telephony Technical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of voice communications at the RBA. You will provide expert technical guidance, lead the development of market tender documentation, and support the evaluation and implementation of cutting-edge telephony solutions.

 

 

About the role
  • Provide expert technical guidance on VOIP and voice service market capabilities.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications aligned with modern VOIP solutions.
  • Lead the development of market tender documentation to attract suitable vendor responses.
  • Define and document evaluation criteria for tender responses.
  • Support vendor engagement during the tender period, including responding to technical queries.
  • Analyse and assess vendor responses for accuracy and alignment with requirements.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs).
  • Contribute to the overall voice services solution design and architecture.
  • Ensure alignment with the Bank’s Enterprise Architecture policies, processes, and strategic direction.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical requirements and solution architecture documentation.
  • Provide strategic guidance to ensure alignment with the Bank’s long-term objectives.

 

 

About You
  • Proven experience in leading telephony or VOIP-related technical projects.
  • Strong understanding of the VOIP market and modern voice service capabilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and evaluating market tenders.
  • Familiarity with Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with industry recognised SAAS based telephony systems such as Cisco Webex and Microsoft Teams is highly desirable' without bolding them. 
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
