As an Account Manager focused on Contractor Engagement at nVent Electrical Connections, you’ll be instrumental in driving customer growth and new business development by shaping and executing strategic territory plans. You will partner directly with contractors, consultants and end users providing solution selling for our reliable, high performance electrical connection, protection and fastening solutions. Your work will directly contribute to helping our customers build safer, more efficient, and more resilient systems making a tangible impact in the industry.

We provide a comfortable workspace for you at our Sydney facility that is centrally located in Lidcombe. The facility is home for our Oceania distribution and training centre, value-added manufacturing cells, Customer Care, Logistics, Material planning and Commercial Teams.

Main responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver product / solutions training and information to contractors, specifiers and channel partners.

  • Maintain a list of key projects within Salesforce. Achieve sales goals for targeted product lines.

  • Closing strategic opportunities and maintaining close key end-user and channel relationships.

  • You will be the liaison between customers and support functions, collaborating on product strategies.

  • Build and monitor your territory Opportunity Funnel (in Salesforce) by identifying and reporting new opportunities, by converting Marketing Qualified Leads and Channel partner Leads.

YOU HAVE:
  • Ideally 5+ years’ experience in electrical, telecommunications, mechanical or fire /plumbing industry field sales and account management. Background in establishing successful relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors, is preferred.

  • Sound product and technical knowledge (ideally in electrical or trade-related fields).

  • Qualification in Electrical or other related building service trade would be an advantage

  • Confident value-based approach to solution selling! Excellent communication and influencing skills.

  • Confirmed experience working with end-users to develop time-saving solutions, combined with a strong background in electrical and/or mechanical distribution channels.

  • This role requires a strong customer-facing focus, with approximately 70% of time spent in the field engaging with customers within NSW.

  • You are a self-motivated and proactive professional, with the ability to manage own time and workload to be successful!

  • Computer literate with knowledge of CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) and MS Office
