Hastings Deering is looking for an experienced Trades Assistant to join our Longreach Branch. In this role, you’ll work alongside a dedicated team to deliver exceptional service and support to our customers. This is a Permanent, Full-time, Monday to Friday role.
The key responsibilities of this dynamic role will include but not be limited to:
- Maintain and operate the Longreach Hose Container to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Assist customers with parts enquiries and hose assembly requirements, delivering excellent service and technical support.
- Support Longreach-based fitters with day-to-day tasks, including parts expediting and coordination.
- Accurately track all tooling and ensure timely return to the Emerald tool store.
- Uphold safety and compliance standards while managing inventory and equipment.

About you:
A successful teammate will have:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and enjoy working in a hands-on environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to assist customers and collaborate with team members effectively.
- Detail-oriented and organised, with a focus on accuracy in tracking tools and parts.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative while supporting a busy team.
- Previous experience in parts, hose assemblies, or a similar technical role is highly regarded.
- A commitment to safety and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
