About the opportunity

This is a rare opportunity to lead the operations and strategic delivery of a nationally recognised quantum computing research training centre (FLiQC), working alongside leading academics, researchers, industry partners, and government stakeholders. As Training Centre Manager, you'll drive collaboration across multiple Australian universities, oversee key research and training initiatives, manage high-profile partnerships, and play a critical role in shaping the future quantum workforce. Offering significant autonomy, leadership responsibility, and exposure to cutting-edge innovation, this role is ideal for a strategic and relationship-focused leader looking to make a lasting impact in research, higher degree by research (HDR) student experience, and industry engagement.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • lead FLiQC operations across research, training, collaboration, engagement, and outreach

  • manage the FLiQC HDR student program across multiple university nodes nationally

  • build relationships with industry partners and onboard new collaborators

  • oversee Centre budget, KPIs, reporting, and governance requirements

  • support research planning, commercialisation, and ethics approval processes

  • deliver Centre strategy with advisory board and stakeholder engagement.

About you

  • proven leadership managing multi-site teams and complex stakeholder networks

  • experience in research, higher education, or innovation environments

  • strong operational, budget, KPI, and governance management expertise

  • skilled in industry partnership development and stakeholder engagement

  • knowledge of research compliance, ethics, and regulatory requirements

  • excellent communication, reporting, and strategic planning capabilities.
