Job Description

With an exciting pipeline of infrastructure projects requiring operational traffic modelling in both NSW and the ACT, our AECOM Sydney office currently has a new opportunity for a Transport Modeller.

Working within a diverse, inclusive, industry-leading team, you will provide operational transport modelling as part of our Transport Planning & Advisory business. You will work with our clients and AECOM infrastructure design teams in realising the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects, such as Parramatta Light Rail Stage 2, Heathcote Road upgrade, Sydney Airport, Picton Road upgrade and many more.

We are looking for a highly self-motivated and ambitious professional who is seeking continued professional development and is seeking opportunities to deliver technical excellence in existing and new business delivery.

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.  

About You

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a transport modeller
  • Experience in delivering operational modelling e.g. microsimulation and mesoscopic modelling for technically challenging projects
  • Excellent communication, presentation and analysis skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

    Qualifications

      The qualities that help you thrive:

      • Recognised tertiary qualifications in engineering, transport, mathematics, economics, geography, computer science, statistics, physics or equivalent discipline
      • Experience in one or more operational modelling platforms e.g. VISSIM,VisVAP, Aimsun, SIDRA
      • Experience in using and developing scripts and macros in these packages
      • Programming experience in Python, SQL, Visual Basic
      • Experience in the use of GIS techniques in the application to transport modelling outputs and analysis.
