Designs and leads enterprise Data & AI solutions on the Databricks Lakehouse across major cloud platforms. The role delivers end-to-end implementations, builds Spark and Delta Lake pipelines, optimizes performance and costs, and establishes DevOps, governance, security, and MLOps practices. It also involves customer workshops, executive presentations, stakeholder engagement, team mentoring, and architecture leadership throughout delivery.

We are looking for an experienced Databricks Solution Architect to join a fast-growing Data & AI consulting organization in Sydney.

Databricks Solution Architect / Senior Solution Architect
- 10+ years of consulting and technology experience
- 7+ years in Data Engineering, Data Platforms, or Analytics
- 6–8 enterprise Databricks implementations delivered in production
- Design and lead enterprise-scale Data & AI solutions on Databricks Lakehouse
- Architect scalable data platforms across AWS, Azure and/or GCP
- Lead end-to-end Databricks implementations from discovery to production
- Build and optimize data pipelines using Apache Spark, Databricks and Delta Lake
- Drive performance tuning, cost optimization and platform scalability
- Implement CI/CD, DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
- Support MLOps and modern AI workflows
- Lead architecture workshops, technical discovery sessions and executive presentations
- Work directly with global enterprise customers and senior stakeholders
- Mentor engineering teams and drive architecture/governance best practices
- Strong hands-on Databricks
- Apache Spark / PySpark
- Delta Lake
- Enterprise Data Architecture
- Cloud platforms – AWS / Azure / GCP
- Data Engineering & distributed data platforms
- Data governance, security and platform modernization
- Strong customer-facing consulting experience
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Databricks Data Engineer Professional Certification – Mandatory
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related field.
Master's degree preferred.
