ING Australia’s Wholesale Bank is looking to hire a Vice President - Corporate Sector Coverage to be based in Sydney.
Responsible for supporting the Head of Corporate Sector Coverage across all aspects of the portfolio, this position will play an in important role in the development and execution of a growth strategy for CSC AU in line with regional CSC Sector and wider Wholesale Bank growth aspirations.
As Vice President CSC, you will have a passion for commercial excellence in providing coverage support to CSC clients. Responsibilities include origination and business development; building and developing new client relationships; driving new business development initiatives; and maximising the delivery of all products to clients and hence revenue and profitability on a per client basis. You will work closely with the Head Office CSC and other sector and product colleagues both in Sydney and across ING’s global network.
We are looking for an entrepreneurial, self-starting banker who has strong analytical, numerical, written and oral communication skills who can work collaboratively with others. You will need to have relevant sector and corporate banking experience (ideally from within a global banking environment) and a good credit, structuring and analytical grounding.

What you’ll do

  • Working with local and global team members including product partners, sector teams, Risk and other stakeholders to originate new business with clients, ongoing client relationship management, execute new deals and monitor / maintain existing portfolio.
  • Prospecting for new clients, working on pitches and proposals to position the ING Differentiators, developing and managing detailed client plans, assisting with industry/sector reviews and strategy, assisting with deal structuring, coordinating internal approval process, legal documentation and other execution matters on transactions with support teams in place
  • Helping to cross-sell the bank’s other products and services such as financial markets, debt capital markets, loan syndications, acquisition finance, transaction services and corporate finance advisory. Oversight of credit reviews and assisting with portfolio maintenance/monitoring and portfolio administrative activity as required but with support teams in place
  • Developing marketing material and maintaining a current view of recent transactions, market benchmarks, economic and industry trends, and gathering relevant research. Marketing materials include pitch books, industry reports, comparative tables and league tables as well as updating relevant credentials.

What we’re looking for

  • 5-7 years’ relevant working experience in banking industry with strong business track record
  • University degree major in business/economics or relevant business discipline
  • Positive thinker/resilience in implementing the strategy
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial with a high degree of commercial drive and initiative to
  • grow business
  • Ability to navigate the bank quickly and successfully excelling in a matrix environment
  • Ability to collaborate closely with product partners, particularly treasury, corporate finance and capital markets
  • Excellent team player
  • Strong English language capabilities (both spoken and written)
