Job Responsibilities:
QUALIFICATIONS NECESSARY TO DO THE JOB:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years welding & fabricating experience
- Welding MIG, MCAW/FCAW, Stick, TIG
- Fit complex assemblies without fixturing (Handrails, Guards, Stairs, Columns, Girders, Racks, etc...)
- Minimum Flat CWB Ticket in MIG or MCAW/FCAW or SMAW
- Ability to weld carbon steel (all positions), (Mig & Tig)
- Must be familiar with operating oxy/acetylene torch & plasma cutter, reading blueprints, creating a BOM, cut lists and fabrication tools (e.g. band saws, drill press, etc.)
- Valid forklift license an asset
- Ability to work independently, in a team environment and to communicate well in English (spoken and written)
- Available to work overtime on short notice
- Must have a proven safety and reliability record and a positive attitude that contributes to a team environment
MAIN DUTIES:
- Welding of carbon steel
- Fabricating various items to support Polycon's production process requirements
- Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks
- Work with Eng/Process groups to prototype & develop improvements
- Fabricate jigs & fixtures for manufacturing
- Rigging & hoisting raw materials
- Manage raw material and consumable inventories
- Participation in 5S audits and Continuous Improvement Program required
- Other duties as assigned
