Clifford Chance is seeking a motivated Working Capital Analyst for the Australian Finance Team. The role is crucial in management of Working Capital, with primary functions being Revenue and WIP management, as well as general finance functions such as managing inter-office transactions.
The role requires a self-starter with an eagerness to learn and a positive attitude. This highly rewarding role will provide an opportunity to become the billing expert and trusted local analyst in Australia. While the role is focused on Australia firm, it will also have a significant part to play in the Clifford Chance global and regional communities.

Job Description
- WIP management: to analyse, review, and liaise with Practice Support Coordinators (PSCs) and Partners.
- Matter disbursement management: to conduct a daily review of all client payments to ensure any third-party related payments are identified. Co-ordinate the setting up of payments with the Delhi office. Ensure invoices are ATO compliant and appropriately approved
- Billing: to be a local billing expert, co-ordinate and assist PSCs and the Delhi team with billing related activities.
- Inter-office reconciliation and payments: to co-ordinate with the Delhi office to review and reconcile monthly settlements.
- Communication: to manage the Australian billing mailbox and address client queries in a timely and efficient manner. Ensure that the medium and content of communication is appropriate and effective at all times. Keep internal clients updated on resolution status.
- Reporting: to provide and co-ordinate billing/ebilling and other reporting in a timely and efficient matter. To ensure that all processes (daily/weekly/monthly/annually) are performed without errors and in line with firm policies and procedures.
- Relationship management: to maintain successful working relationships locally and globally. To be a local contact person for lawyers and PSCs in regards to billings/ebillings, WIP and accounting updates.
- Analysis: to assist in revenue, expenses and ad hoc analysis.
- Innovation: to use innovation and technology to improve the processes and procedures.
- Teamwork: to maintain a good relationship with local and overseas teams, willingness to assist and help the team when its needed.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Experience in billings and dealing with internal stakeholders in a professional service industry.
- Experience working with internal controls and compliance related issues.
- Experience in handling multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Experience in Keystone, Oracle and Hyperion will be highly regarded.
- Experience in using excel functions, i.e., VLOOKUP, pivot table, Index, etc.
Skills & Attributes:
- Ability to learn different software platforms as well as use the standard Microsoft Office technology
- Exceptional analytical and numerical skills, with a strong ability to analyse numerical information and data. Identifying trends and commenting.
