We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to take on the critical role of leading the design and maintenance of the operating environment that serves as the backbone of our organization's z-platform computing capabilities. This position is integral to ensuring that our technology infrastructure remains robust, stable, and powerful enough to meet the evolving needs of our Firm.
This is a remote role based in Canada
Information Security Responsibilities
- Promote and enforce awareness of key information security practices, including acceptable use of information assets, malware protection, and password security protocols
- Identify, assess, and report security risks, focusing on how these risks impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets
- Understand and evaluate how data is stored, processed, or transmitted, ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection standards (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
- Ensure data protection measures are integrated throughout the information lifecycle to safeguard sensitive information
Requirements:
- 10 years of relevant experience
- Expertise in z/OS internals
- Self-motivated and able to work autonomously
- Strong knowledge in Catalog management
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work under pressure, such as during a production system outage
- Strong skills in USS/OMVS
- Experience with z/OS and ISV software installations
- Proficiency in testing, including designing tests to validate software functionality, robustness, and performance
- Knowledge of HCD/Hardware
- Experience with REXX
- Ability to provide weekend support and participate in on-call rotations
Nice to Have:
- Familiarity with zOSMF, REST APIs, Kafka, LinuxOne, Ansible, Python, and other new zOS technologies is a plus
- Assembler skills for usermods maintenance and dump reading are desirable but not mandatory
