Owns governance, support, optimization, and evolution of the SAP Finance platform. Provides Level 3 support, manages finance master data, user access, segregation of duties, audit remediation, and compliance controls. Analyzes and interprets enterprise agreements, modern awards, employment legislation, and payroll-related conditions. Advises Payroll, People Services, Industrial Relations, and business stakeholders on compliant implementation, system impacts, risks, wage reviews, entitlements, investigations, and remediation. Prepares briefing papers, guidance, recommendations, and governance documentation while identifying payroll control gaps and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Leads a specialist team overseeing payroll financial controls, employee deductions, statutory payments, reconciliations, reporting, governance, compliance, and audit readiness. Partners with Payroll, Finance, Tax, Compliance, and Systems teams to strengthen controls, simplify processes, standardize operations, improve reporting, and support transformation across People Services.

Coordinates training compliance activities, including reporting, researching providers, identifying training needs, scheduling sessions, assigning employee training, recording outcomes in the LMS, and managing purchase orders and invoices. The role requires strong administration, communication, prioritization, data accuracy, stakeholder relationship-building, and database or LMS experience. Training industry experience or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is preferred but not essential.

Leads commercial strategy throughout tendering, negotiation, award, and handover for Energy & Utilities opportunities. Shapes pricing, risk positions, customer responses, and contract approaches; evaluates KPIs, performance regimes, value, and commercial risks; partners with bid, operational, technical, legal, and functional teams; and presents recommendations through governance and approval processes.

Lead development of compliant, compelling bid submissions for power-sector tenders. Interview SMEs, write and edit technical content, manage bid plans and reviews, compile required documentation, collaborate with designers, and coach contributors to deliver winning proposals.

Lead the establishment and operation of a Lifecycle PMO across Downer’s national Health & Education PPP portfolio. Improve project prioritisation, delivery confidence, commercial discipline, lifecycle value and portfolio performance. Partner with Contract Managers, Asset Managers, Project Managers and operational leaders to resolve delivery challenges, translate complex information into actionable priorities, and build consistent project-management disciplines and processes.

Tests SAP Payroll and related HR systems to ensure accurate, compliant payroll outcomes. Responsibilities include defining testing approaches, creating and executing test cases, conducting SIT, UAT and regression testing, validating payroll calculations, reconciling discrepancies, managing defects, maintaining testing evidence, and collaborating with Payroll, HR, Technology, vendors, and project teams on system releases and legislative updates.

Supports month-end close, reconciliations, journals, OneStream reporting, statutory and management reporting, audit requests, budgeting, forecasting, and finance process controls. Maintains accurate working papers, reporting files, supporting schedules, and documentation while contributing to continuous improvement across the finance team.
