What is it like to work at Gynger?
What examples show Gynger’s mission in action?
At Gynger, employees describe the mission as connected to their daily work and consistently reinforced by leadership.
Building culture is a challenging process that doesn’t usually stick to a straight and defined path. Since our beginning, Gynger has invested in the development of a core defined mission and set of values that we all operate under. As a hybrid workplace, however, we have additionally focused on nurturing both in-office and remote subcultures.
The Gynger headquarters in NYC is a bustling office that mainly consists of our go-to-market team. Having camaraderie in the “sales crucible” is important for any growing company, and the office fosters a “work hard, play hard” attitude with friendly competition. There was one particular time we were racing to hit a high sales target during one particular quarter, which required every team - from product and engineering to GTM - to work together against the clock. Even within the sales team, everyone had to help out each other. We ended up hitting our numbers and it was a great bonding experience for the entire team.
As we continue to grow, we’re cultivating our remote culture as well. Our product and engineering team is almost all remote along with some other individuals, including myself. In lieu of a shared office environment, we’ve developed a culture of collaboration and trust. We emphasize clear communication and regular check-ins to ensure everyone feels valued and heard.
Leadership underscores and reinforces this commitment to the mission through our weekly meetings when we discuss our OKRs. Additionally, our mission is especially pronounced when we have our sales enablement sessions (in which other teams are invited).
The results are in: Gynger reported in weekly surveys that employees are generally happy with their manager, aligned with company goals, and feel connected to the team. Additional signals include being designated a Built-In "Best Places to Work" for two years in a row, a 5/5 Glassdoor rating (20+ reviews), and a 100% CEO approval (also Glassdoor).
