About the Team

Splunk, a Cisco company, is experiencing strong growth across ANZ, and our NSW Public Sector business is one of the most strategically significant patches in the region. We partner with the agencies that keep the state moving and keep the public safe — from transport networks to frontline policing and emergency services.

This is a small, tight-knit, high-performing team that operates with genuine trust at the most senior levels of government. We work shoulder-to-shoulder with Sales Engineering, Professional Services, Partners, and the broader networking organisation to help agencies strengthen their cyber posture, improve service resilience, and get real value out of their data.

Your Role and Impact

You will own two of Splunk's most strategic accounts in two of the largest agencies in the NSW transport and public safety portfolios, along with a portfolio of public safety and emergency services agencies. This role is available due to an internal promotion.

These are long-cycle, high-consequence, multi-stakeholder accounts with established Splunk footprints and significant room to grow. Your job is to deepen those relationships, expand into new parts of each agency, and be the person executives call when something genuinely matters. You'll build and execute multi-year account strategies, navigate government procurement with confidence, and orchestrate large internal and partner teams around a small number of very big outcomes.

This is not a high-velocity, high-logo-count role. It's a strategic account leadership role and proven experience to work within the Public Sector within NSW is essential.

Key Responsibilities

●      Own the account strategy, relationship map, and revenue outcomes for TfNSW, NSW Police, and a defined set of public safety agencies.

●      Consistently achieve quarterly and annual targets across licence, support, and services, with a strong emphasis on multi-year enterprise agreements and renewals-plus-expansion.

●      Act as a trusted advisor to CISOs, CIOs, CTOs, Deputy Secretaries, and agency executives on cyber resilience, SOC modernisation, threat detection and response, operational visibility, and mission-critical service reliability.

●      Build and defend a credible multi-year account plan for each agency, aligned to their funding cycles, ministerial priorities, and cyber uplift programs.

●      Navigate NSW Government procurement end to end — panels and schemes (e.g. buy.NSW ICT Services Scheme), open tenders, business case support, probity requirements, and whole-of-government agreements.

●      Lead complex commercial negotiations and value-based selling conversations, from technical evaluators through to procurement, legal, and executive sponsors.

●      Orchestrate extended pursuit teams across Splunk Sales Engineering, Professional Services, Customer Success, Partners, and Cisco account and security specialists.

●      Develop the partner and systems integrator ecosystem that surrounds these agencies to extend reach and accelerate delivery.

●      Maintain rigorous forecasting, pipeline hygiene, and reporting accuracy in Salesforce, in partnership with Sales Operations and leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

●      5–10 years of strategic or major account management experience, owning a small number of complex, high-value accounts through full multi-year lifecycles.

●      Strong cyber security background — demonstrable depth selling into security teams and SOC environments (SIEM, threat detection and response, SOAR, security operations uplift, or adjacent security domains). You can hold a substantive conversation with a CISO without an SE in the room.

●      Proven success selling enterprise software or SaaS into Australian government or public sector organisations, including experience with government procurement processes and probity expectations.

●      Established senior and executive-level relationships within NSW Government, or a demonstrated ability to build them quickly and credibly.

●      Track record of leading large, multi-year, multi-stakeholder deals to close — including at least one you can walk us through in detail, start to finish.

●      Strong forecasting discipline and proficiency with Salesforce CRM.

●      Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

●      Experience in transport, policing, justice, emergency services, or critical infrastructure environments.

●      Familiarity with the NSW Cyber Security Policy, ACSC Essential Eight, ISM, and SOCI Act obligations, and how they shape agency investment priorities.

●      Experience selling observability, AIOps, or data analytics alongside security — particularly in support of mission-critical operational systems.

●      Comfortable presenting to and influencing executive and ministerial-level stakeholders.

●      Experience co-selling with large partners and systems integrators in the public sector.

●      Excellent time management and prioritisation — the ability to say no to noise and stay focused on what moves these two accounts forward.

This role is available immediately. If this sounds like you, we'd love to meet you. Hybrid/remote with flexible working from home and our North Sydney office. We offer top benefits such as private healthcare, quarterly wellbeing days, education and development support, and other generous benefits — as well as a great team around you.
