RX is looking for a Business Development / Account Manager to drive revenue across a portfolio of leading Australian exhibitions spanning exciting sectors such as video gaming, energy and e-commerce.

This is a genuine blend of business development and account management, ideal for someone with a hunter mentality who enjoys prospecting, consultative selling and closing valuable commercial opportunities.

About RX

At RX, we’re in the business of building businesses, and we have fun doing it.

We create high-profile events that bring industries and communities together, connecting customers with new markets, opportunities and experiences. As part of RELX, we combine the scale and career opportunities of a global organisation with the pace, variety and energy of the events industry.

What's in it for You?
  • Uncapped earning potential, with commission accelerators for exceeding your targets
  • A genuine 50/50 mix of new business and account management, giving you variety and ownership
  • The opportunity to sell across exciting sectors including Video Gaming, Energy and E-commerce
  • Work on major Australian events and see the direct impact of the partnerships you create
  • Clear progression career pathways
  • Flexible working hours and a hybrid working model
  • A collaborative, supportive and commercially driven team
  • Access wellbeing initiatives, paid parental and volunteering leave, learning resources, retail discounts and additional benefits

About the Role

You’ll take ownership of sales across a portfolio of major events, which may include Consumer Video Gaming (PAX), Energy, Water or E-Commerce.

The role is approximately 50% new business development and 50% account management.

You’ll work with an allocated customer and prospect database while generating your own leads and proactively targeting prospective exhibitors and commercial partners.

This is a phone-led sales role where you’ll manage opportunities from initial prospecting through to close. You’ll engage with marketing, sales and business decision-makers, uncover their commercial goals and create solutions that deliver genuine value.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Prospecting and winning new exhibitors through outbound calling and self-generated leads
  • Managing and growing relationships with existing and prospective customers
  • Building a healthy pipeline and consistently following up sales opportunities
  • Using consultative, value-based selling to understand customer goals and challenges
  • Developing tailored commercial solutions rather than relying on transactional selling
  • Confidently handling objections, negotiating and progressing opportunities to close
  • Responding to inbound enquiries while maintaining a strong outbound sales focus
  • Maintaining accurate customer, pipeline and activity information in Salesforce
  • Collaborating with internal teams to support the successful delivery of each event
  • Attending and supporting the exhibitions within your portfolio

About You

You’re an energetic and resilient sales professional who is comfortable picking up the phone, creating opportunities and working towards ambitious revenue targets.

You’ll bring:

  • Strong phone-based B2B sales, account management or business development experience
  • A genuine hunter mentality and confidence generating your own leads
  • Experience using consultative and value-based selling techniques
  • Strong objection-handling, negotiation and closing skills
  • The ability to build credibility with marketing, sales and business decision-makers
  • Confidence balancing new business development with account growth
  • A proactive, commercially focused approach and strong personal accountability
  • Experience in events, media, technology, gaming, e-commerce or a related sector would be advantageous but not essential

RX also offers wellbeing initiatives, paid parental and volunteering leave, learning and development resources, retail discounts, income protection and benefits designed to support you and your family.
