Job Description:
Looking for an Accountant to support the Finance Team and perform a range of financial tasks. Below are broad duties and responsibilities associated with the role:
1. Account Reconciliation:
- Liaise with accounts payable and receivable team to ensure accurate financial records are done for outstanding open items.
- Liaise with outsourcing team to mitigate the open transactions on bank reconciliations and ensure that any discrepancies are addressed promptly.
- Perform accrual reconciliations such as Freight/Warehousing/Payroll/Workers Compensation and liaise with various stakeholders within the business to post accruals during month end.
2. General Ledger Maintenance:
- Assist with the maintenance of the general ledger, including entering journal entries.
- Help in maintaining the accuracy of accounting records and documentation.
- Post transactions in various ERP systems.
- Coordinate with business on monthly payment of royalties/licence fees to global team.
3. Accounts Payable & Receivable, Inventory accounting:
- Process sales invoices and credit notes.
- Ensure that all accounts payable and receivable are properly logged and updated in the system.
- Process inventory related journals and cost changes, so experience in inventory and landed cost accounting will be mandatory.
4. Communication & Collaboration:
- Liaise with other departments to gather necessary information for financial reporting. Help with preparing financial reports.
- Support finance team to work with external auditors during audits or tax filings and run reports and gather supporting evidence.
- Respond to any queries from vendors, customers, or internal staff regarding financial transactions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- The role requires a minimum of 5 years of work experience preferably in large MNC’s or ASX listed.
- A degree in accounting or finance is required and professional qualifications such as CPA or CA are mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using large ERP’s such as SAP, Oracle preferred, experience in Microsoft D365 is mandatory and intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Good communication skills for collaborating with other teams.
