Purpose of role:
The Accountant is responsible for preparation of monthly/year-end accounting and supporting the team on financial accounting, management accounting and tax compliance for the corporate group.
The Accountant will also assist in improving efficiency and productivity of the team through process improvement and system automation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monthly Tasks
- Prepare workpapers and accounts of the month end close and reporting process, for responsible entities
- Manage and process monthly management fees by working with internal business partners
- Manage and process monthly recognition of coinvestment income
- Prepare monthly revenue summaries to identify key budget/forecast variances and their drivers
- Assist with the preparation of the monthly financial performance report to the CEO and CFO
- Assist with monthly financial data processing and reporting for ESR Group requirements
• Daily Tasks
- Payment checks against bank, Yardi and invoices
- Raise invoices and recognising receipts for trade debtors
- Monitor debtors and ensuring timely cash receipts
- Assist with daily cashflow management
• Tax Compliance
- Preparation of monthly BAS reports
- Preparation of annual income tax returns
- Assist with Country by Country Reporting to the ATO and when required by ESR Group
• Process Improvement
- Pro-actively seek and implement process and system improvements
- Assist with team projects as required and takes responsibility and ownership for deliverables including projects/process improvements
• Ad-Hoc Tasks
- Facilitate internal/ external auditors on query resolutions and assist with year-end statutory accounts preparation
- Prepare annual financial statements
- Assist with vendor verifications
- System maintenance and optimisation
- Liaise with the ATO/ABR in relation to tax compliance and administration matters
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Chartered Accountant/CPA qualified or close to qualification
Essential requirements:
- Intermediate or above proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to complete tasks while meeting tight deadlines
- Attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills
- Professional, results driven, strong work ethic with high integrity
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated verbal, written and presentation skills
Desirable requirements:
- Experience of Yardi Voyager
- Big 4 / Chartered experience
- Property industry experience
