Job Description

Join TAL’s Capital Reporting team as an Actuarial Analyst, providing actuarial, analytical, and technical support the Capital Reporting Actuary. We’re looking for someone to join a small team within the broader Finance business unit who is willing to learn, will take initiative to improve processes and has strong Microsoft Excel skills.

This is a permanent role, working flexibly from our Sydney office.

In this role you will: 

  • Provide support for ICS reporting including producing ICS balance sheet, calculation of qualifying capital resources and ICS capital requirement.
  • Provide support for monthly and quarterly financial reporting and forecasting/budgeting, half-yearly and annual valuations.
  • Assist with producing capital projections for all purposes including monthly dashboard, Long Term Plan and ICAAP and relevant APRA forms.
  • Supporting with the production and upstream communication of quality and timely reporting associated with the full financial reporting cycle for LAGIC.
  • Assist in the implementation of capital initiatives.
  • Support ongoing enhancements to capital reporting analysis into capital generation and usage.
  • Support continual improvement in the capital reporting functions, across processes and models.
  • Support and implement regulatory change such as IFRS17 and updates to LAGIC.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary degree majoring in actuarial science or a related field
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in an Actuarial role, within financial services
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills
  • Good time management and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to investigate and resolve complex issues
