Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Strategic Capital, this role plays a key part in supporting the development and execution of initiatives that enhance TAL’s capital position and long-term value. The position contributes to the implementation of TAL’s capital management strategy, providing financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership on capital, profitability, value creation and risk considerations. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, you will support reinsurance and capital management initiatives, including transaction execution, governance, recovery planning, stress testing, forecasting and dividend management. The role also contributes to the delivery of Commercial Action Plan (CAP) initiatives, partnering with Finance and the broader business to develop, execute and report on strategic projects that drive commercial outcomes.

In this role you will:

  • Contribute to the strategic direction and ongoing evolution of TAL's capital management framework.
  • Support the development and implementation of capital-related initiatives in partnership with Finance and business stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance and regular enhancement of the Commercial Action Plan (CAP).
  • Participate in the assessment, development and syndication of reinsurance initiatives that deliver value while aligning with TAL's risk appetite.
  • Support the development and execution of TAL's reinsurance strategy.
  • Review and influence the design, negotiation, implementation and termination of reinsurance treaties to optimise capital efficiency and value outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Actuary
  • Strong Knowledge of Life Insurance Capital or Valuation 
  • Strong Financial modelling experience
  • Strong ability to communicate and to articulate complex concepts.
  • Strong understanding of financial and operational risk management
