Job Description

As an ADF Rehabilitation Consultant, you will apply your clinical reasoning skills to support ADF personnel who have sustained a physical and/or psychological injury. This is a unique role to be part of the team that gets our military fully fit and ready to defend and protect Australia.

  • Taking a holistic care approach, work within a multidisciplinary team to support the journey from rehab to healing
  • Perform a variety of assessments depending on your area of clinical expertise. This could include functional capacity evaluations, worksite, ergonomic or activities of daily living assessments
  • Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders including the employee who has suffered injury, illness, or trauma, medical specialists, other treatment providers and allied health professionals
  • Develop, implement and monitor rehabilitation plans.

KPI’s based on service delivery outcomes, NOT billable hours. Genuine person-centred focus and goal setting.

Set working hours means you can truly have WORK / LIFE balance – no overtime, no outside of work hours work. Enjoy early starts and early finishes: 7:30am - 3:30pm Monday to Friday. You will be located at HMAS Albatross.

What will make you successful:

  • Current unrestricted registration or membership with the relevant industry body (AHPRA, ESSA, ASORC or AASW)
  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Nursing, Osteopathy or Social Work
  • Australian Citizenship
  • Minimum of one year clinical work experience, registered in your chosen profession
  • Ability to engage across multidisciplinary teams to support the achievement of a common goal
  • Passion to help people rehabilitate
  • Occupational rehabilitation experience will be highly regarded
