Job Description

The School of Environment and Science maintains a distinguished research position across numerous industry sectors, guiding and informing its learning and teaching.  Our school is committed to contributing to the planet's sustainable future by identifying and measuring environmental problems and offering solution-driven approaches. Our research and teaching staff are acknowledged as world industry leaders, working across the broad science and environment disciplines enabling us to develop and deliver comprehensive study programs. We partner with industry, government, and the community to drive innovation and achieve success.

As an integral part of our organisation, the Administration Officer will provide crucial administrative support, ensuring the smooth operation of the School and contributing to the overall success of our University. There are two positions available with the potential to be based at either Brisbane South (Nathan) or the Gold Coast. Both roles will provide general administration, with one focused on providing high level executive assistance to the Head of School,  and the other supporting the Deputy Head of School (Research) in the management of Higher Degree Research students.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing general administrative support including diary and travel management, record management, managing the flow of information, maintaining and reviewing administrative processes and making suggestions for improvement.
  • Designing and maintaining systems, undertaking procurement and financial transactions using the University’s finance systems.
  • Supporting working parties and ad hoc committees including the preparation of agendas and minutes and ensure follow up of actions.
  • Providing standard policy and procedural advice, and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.

What we can offer
This is a continuing, full time position primarily based at either the Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) or Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations.

Griffith University’s sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
HEW 5 - Base range $82,415.66 - $92,456.55 + 17% superannuation. Full package range $96,426.31 - $108,174.16.
