About the Role

The AI Solutions Director is WWT's frontline AI leadership role, guiding and managing 2–3 AI POD teams within an assigned business unit. This is a player-coach position balancing team leadership with direct engagement in the most complex, high-value customer pursuits.

Each AI POD includes an AI Solutions Executive, an AI Solutions Architect, and an AI Services Consultant, working together to generate pipeline, win opportunities, and drive AI adoption across WWT's enterprise account base. The Director owns overall POD performance – pipeline health, forecast accuracy, margin attainment, and revenue growth – and partners with Regional Sales, Engineering, and Services leaders to integrate POD resources into the territory's operating rhythm.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and manage 2–3 AI PODs with direct accountability for pipeline growth, win rates, revenue attainment, and margin targets
  • Coach and develop AI Solutions Executives, Solutions Architects, and Services Consultants; partner with HR and talent acquisition on POD hiring
  • Run a structured weekly AI GTM operating cadence: pipeline reviews, deal-stage progression, resource allocation, and forecast submissions to the SVP
  • Engage personally in the most strategic pursuits – leading IT and line-of-business executive conversations, briefings, and high-stakes proposal presentations
  • Coordinate deployment of shared resources (Industry Advisors, AI Development Specialists, Executive Advisors, GS&A, BD, SC&E) into POD-level pursuits
  • Partner with OEM-embedded resources from NVIDIA, Dell, Cisco, HPE, and AI Native Engineering partners on joint pipeline planning, co-sell execution, and partner funding programs
  • Integrate AI POD resources into regional account planning and build trusted relationships with Regional Vice Presidents and senior field managers

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of enterprise technology sales experience with consistent quota attainment or overachievement
  • 3+ years of sales management or team leadership experience with direct accountability for quota-carrying professionals
  • Proven track record building and developing high-performing sales teams, including coaching pipeline generation, consultative selling, and co-selling behaviors
  • Demonstrated ability to run a structured sales operating cadence: pipeline reviews, forecast calls, deal-stage governance, and performance management rhythms
  • AI domain fluency sufficient to coach credibly, engage confidently in customer conversations, and direct resource deployment (leadership role, not hands-on technical – but AI literacy is non-negotiable)
  • Experience managing within a co-selling or specialist sales model alongside field account teams
  • Credible personal engagement at the IT and LOB executive level
  • Strong ability to influence cross-functional resources – shared specialists, OEM partners, field sales leaders – without direct authority
  • Bachelor's degree required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing AI, cloud, data, or advanced infrastructure-focused sales teams at a solutions provider, consultancy, or enterprise OEM
  • Existing relationships with AI ecosystem partners – NVIDIA, hyperscale cloud providers, AI infrastructure OEMs, emerging AI software vendors
  • Familiarity with WWT's account base, Advanced Technology Center model, or lab-led selling methodologies
  • Experience building or scaling specialist sales team models within large enterprise sales organizations
  • MBA or advanced degree in business, technology, or a related discipline

Key Competencies

  • Sales Leadership: Proven ability to build, coach, and manage quota-carrying sales teams. Sets high expectations, creates accountability, and develops individuals while sustaining team performance over time.
  • Player-Coach Orientation: Balances the dual demands of team leadership and personal deal involvement. Knows when to coach from the sideline and when to step directly into a pursuit. Does not delegate all customer engagement to the team.
  • AI Domain Fluency: Maintains sufficient depth across the AI landscape – infrastructure, platforms, use cases, workforce AI, and market trends – to coach the team credibly, engage customers confidently, and deploy resources with judgment.
  • Operating Discipline: Runs structured operating cadences with rigor and consistency. Treats pipeline governance, forecast accuracy, and CRM hygiene as competitive advantages, not administrative obligations.
  • Executive Presence: Commands credibility with senior customer executives, partner leadership, and internal stakeholders. Comfortable leading executive briefings, navigating high-stakes negotiations, and representing WWT at the BU leadership level.
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Builds trust and alignment with resources and leaders who do not report into the role – shared specialists, field sales leaders, OEM partners, and regional executives. Achieves results through collaboration and credibility, not authority alone.
  • Talent Development: Invested in the growth of the individuals on the team. Provides specific, actionable coaching; identifies development opportunities; and creates an environment where high performers thrive and underperformers are identified and supported early.
  • Commercial Intensity: Brings urgency, accountability, and competitive drive to every aspect of the role. Does not accept pipeline stagnation or forecast drift. Holds the team and partners to high commercial standards while sustaining a positive, team-first culture.
  • Collaborative Teammate: Thrives in a team-selling environment. Earns the trust of field account teams by adding clear value, respecting relationship ownership, and consistently following through on commitments.
