The Role
This role plays a key part in supporting the implementation and ongoing operation of SettleIT’s AML/CTF compliance framework across its platform and designated services. You’ll work closely with both compliance and operations teams to ensure the safe and compliant handling of client funds, transactions, and digital property settlements (including via PEXA).
You’ll be involved in critical activities such as customer due diligence, risk assessments, transaction monitoring, settlement file management, and maintaining effective compliance workflows. The role is focused on ensuring processes are robust, well-documented, and aligned with regulatory requirements, while also helping to build scalable, tech-enabled compliance and settlement operations.
In the lead-up to 1 July 2026, you’ll focus on implementation readiness and operational setup. Following this, the role will transition into supporting day-to-day compliance and settlement operations as the business scales.
About you
You are a detail-oriented and risk-aware professional with strong judgment, process discipline, and a commitment to confidentiality. Skilled in customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, and settlement file management, you ensure compliance frameworks are consistently applied and aligned with regulatory obligations. Collaborative and proactive, you support scalable, technology-enabled AML/CTF compliance and digital property settlement operations.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Support implementation and ongoing management of the AML/CTF framework, including policy development and continuous improvement.
- Conduct customer due diligence, verification, and onboarding checks, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Manage compliance workflows, transaction monitoring, and risk identification, including file reviews, alerts, and escalations.
- Oversee settlement processes, including preparation, review, coordination via PEXA, and liaison with conveyancers, lenders, and stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate compliance and settlement records, provide operational support, and ensure consistent internal processes.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Experience in compliance, legal operations, settlements, or a regulated environment
- Familiarity with AML/CTF processes including due diligence and risk-based reviews
- Strong attention to detail and document review capability
- Experience with workflow or case management systems
- Strong organisational and communication skills
Desirable
- Property, conveyancing, or settlement experience
- Familiarity with AML/CTF Tranche 2 reforms
- Experience supporting compliance framework implementation
