What Cloud Engineering contributes to Cardinal Health

Working knowledge of server hardware, software and operating systems, platform configuration, virtual technologies, cloud technologies, networking/distributed computing environments, backup and storage systems and systems management tools.

Maintains existing infrastructure through proactive patching of firmware and operating systems.

Maintains a stable production environment in the Cardinal Health IT environment. This includes various operating systems in virtual, physical and cloud environments. Maintains backup and disaster recovery sites and storage environment for both on-premises and cloud environment.

Gathers requirements, designs, and deploys infrastructure solutions to meet business needs. This includes physical, virtual and cloud server deployments
Accountabilities in this role
The Analyst – Cloud Engineering has shared responsibility to a 24x7 support system to all severity of incident management, problem management, change management and projects for Cloud and on-premises environment IT Infrastructure of Cardinal Health.

Operating System software, utility software, and day-to-day support for Linux Systems and Microsoft Systems

Support of system utility software, applications, documentation, third party software and compliance.

Manages capacity on physical, virtual and cloud infrastructure.

Services clients in problem resolution and in processing service requests

Performance monitoring, system tuning, and capacity planning experience

Raise and respond to multiple Change Management and Incident tickets appropriately

Ability to troubleshoot issues independently

Collaborates with clients, business partners, and transaction center(s) to deliver services

Work with Vendors to understand and resolve complex issues
Technical Skills Required

Knowledge in Linux System Administration.

RedHat Enterprise Linux

CentOS / Rocky Linux

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server

Qualifications
-
Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience

1 year experience in related field preferred.

Applicable technical certifications preferred.
