Manage APAC communications and public affairs: draft and localize press materials, coordinate regional PR calendars and media outreach, support launches and events, monitor/report performance, assist issue management and government relations, coordinate stakeholder mapping, and travel to markets as required.
We are looking for an independent, proactive Manager, Communications and Public Affairs (APAC) to support CHAGEE’s fast-growing presence across APAC. This integrated role which covers PR and Government Relations duties, will work closely with APAC PR teams to drive brand visibility, strengthen media relations (support key product launches/grand openings, partnerships, and cultural collaborations), plus government affairs relationship-building across multiple markets.
You will play a hands-on role in executing day-to-day activities while also supporting larger regional initiatives. Key ResponsibilitiesRegional Media Relations & Outreach, PR Support- Draft, refine, and localise press releases, briefing notes, pitches, and Q&A statements.
- Coordinate regional PR calendars covering product launches, new markets, cultural exhibitions, and key brand moments, working closely with in-market PR teams to align messages/timelines/deliverables
- Support proactive pitching across lifestyle, F&B, business, travel, culture, and mainstream media.
- Manage day-to-day media enquiries with professionalism and timely responses.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media across priority markets.
- Support media preview events, grand openings, interviews, and press trips where required.
- Travel to key markets when needed to support events and meetings
- Support monitoring and reporting across multiple markets with insights (not just by clipping count)
- Work with cross-functional teams (Marketing, R&D, Ops, HR etc) to gather accurate information for media materials.
- Prepare weekly PR performance reports for APAC leadership.
- Manage press release dissemination, media lists, and PR administrative tasks.
- Track budgets and agency hours where relevant.
- Support event logistics, RSVPs, media gifting, and asset preparation when required.
- Assist in preparing holding statements, FAQs, and reactive responses.
- Support risk assessments on campaign ideas, partnerships, and country-specific sensitivities.
- Help maintain PR SOPs and ensure markets adhere to brand and comms guidelines.
- Assist with stakeholder mapping research and information organization
- Possess a keen sense of mitigating regulatory vulnerabilities and risks
- Track regulatory movements, key updates across the region
- Coordinate government and industry association related events, visits when necessary
- Work closely with country teams to support government communications needs when needed
- 6-8 years of PR, Policy Communications or Government Affairs experience
- Prior experience handling multiple markets or regional stakeholders is a strong advantage (but not required).
- Strong writer with the ability to draft clear, concise press materials.
- Comfortable interacting with journalists, agencies, governments, and external partners.
- Skilled in managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- Experience working with PR agencies (managing or coordinating) is a plus.
- Basic crisis/issue management experience is a plus.
- Fluent in English; additional Asian languages a plus (Bahasa Malaysia/Indonesia, Thai, Mandarin, Korean).
- Willingness to travel for work when required.
- Highly organised, reliable, and detail-oriented.
- The ability to make judgement calls in a calm manner in times of crisis or short-turnaround timeframes
- Independent and resourceful — able to handle day-to-day tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong sense of accountability and follow-through.
- Flexible and adaptable to rapid changes.
- Strong sense of cultural sensitivity, especially when working across regional markets.
