Position Summary/Objectives of Incumbent:
The prime purpose of this position is to provide pre-sales solutions support to the Australian and New Zealand market for critical Power infrastructure networks & projects with the application of Vertiv Power products where required supported with approved third-party products and services.
Particular expertise and /or experience required for this position:
- Qualifications in Electrical Power Engineering.
- Experience with the design and applications of UPS units in critical infrastructure environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide sales staff with technical assistance & support information on Vertiv UPS & battery system products to assist with the sales activity
• Review of RFQ documentation submitted by Sales - including technical specification requirements, electrical wiring schematics and floorplan layout drawings.
• Preparation of quotations for Sales comprising of:
Formal offer complete with compliance statements, single line drawings and costing schedules
Bill of materials (BOM) itemising products and service included in offer
• Source quotes from third party product and services in support of offers
• Reconcile purchase orders on successfully won jobs and complete a job entry of the order as per Vertiv process
• Complete profitability analysis directed by Power Solutions Manager / Associate Director, PSA ANZ on costing offers
• Management of products delivery and design for non-established products
• Undertake product training as required as well as provide solution presentations as directed by management
• Adhere to PSA procedures and practices
• Completion of all work in a timely manner
Continuous Improvement:
• Develop or enhance new & existing pre-sales processes to improve overall efficiency as part of VOS initiative.
• Provide feedback from lessons learned in won/lost bids or project reviews to improve future solution designs.
WHS, Environment & Quality:
• Comply with all Work, Health & Safety, Environment and Quality obligations
• Actively promote safety in the workplace
Education/Qualification:
• Recognised technical qualifications in Electrical Engineering
Specialist Knowledge:
• Market knowledge of UPS products & accessories
• Tender submission processes and good business acumen sense
• An understanding of the Data Centre industry and its architectures
• Good technical understanding and application knowledge of UPS & battery products to be supported.
• Excellent competency in reading technical drawings and design specifications
• Knowledge of the application of Australian and international standards framework and industry codes
(eg. AS/NZS 3000, 3008, 3011, 2676.2)
Practical Experience:
• Market knowledge of power products including their applications
• Tender submission processes including product costing, completion of schedules & compliance statements.
• Excellent technical understanding and knowledge of power infrastructure products and concepts.
• Proficient in technical writing.
• English writing and presentation skills
• MS Excel & Word skills
• AutoCAD drawing skills
