About the Role

The Applications Lead is responsible for the leadership, governance, and continuous improvement of the commercial applications portfolio from an operational and service delivery perspective.
This role works closely with the Product Manager, Commercial Applications to execute product strategy, manage service performance, and ensure platforms meet business needs.
Partnering with service lines, vendors, and IT teams, the Applications Lead ensures effective, reliable application services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead operational delivery of commercial applications in alignment with product strategy, roadmaps, and priorities

  • Act as the senior escalation point for application-related incidents, risks, and service issues

  • Provide input into product planning by advising on operational constraints, risks, and dependencies

  • Oversee application support, maintenance, and enhancement activities across the portfolio

  • Manage prioritisation of incidents, problems, changes, and operational improvements

  • Ensure dependencies across integrations, data platforms, infrastructure, and vendor services are effectively managed

  • Monitor and report on service performance, availability, and operational health

  • Represent application operations in governance forums, service reviews, and delivery discussions

  • Ensure applications comply with regulatory, financial, contractual, and audit requirements

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service reliability, efficiency, and user experience

  • Use service and usage insights to identify opportunities to optimise application operations

  • Contribute to application support and service management standards and ways of working across the team.

  • Foster strong collaboration between applications, product, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams.

About You

This position will be accountable for overseeing the delivery of operations and service standards across business applications.
We are seeking an individual with:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting business-critical application portfolios in a professional services or complex enterprise environment

  • Experience working closely with Product Managers to execute product strategies

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop application teams while maintaining high service standards.

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical considerations into business outcomes.
