About Us

At Splend, we're on a mission to fundamentally change the way people own and operate a vehicle. With a strategic focus on rideshare, we provide our customers with straightforward, no-strings-attached access to vehicle ownership. But we aren't just about vehicle ownership. We're also fast-tracking the transition to green mobility, leading the way globally in reducing the carbon footprint of the transportation sector by transitioning our fleet to electric vehicles.

You'll be excited to work in this role if...
  • You want a hands-on start to your accounting career, with exposure to the full month-end close cycle.

  • You're detail-focused, organised and take pride in getting the numbers right, even when deadlines are tight.

  • You're keen to learn, take ownership and work collaboratively with an experienced finance team.

About the role

Join our Sydney finance team as an Assistant Accountant / Graduate and build strong foundations across core accounting processes. Reporting to the AU Finance Manager, you'll get hands-on exposure to reconciliations, journals, accounts payable, company card processing, month-end and year-end close, and audit support. It's a great opportunity for a recent Accounting graduate to turn your knowledge into practical experience and grow your career in a collaborative team.

What you'll be doing

    • Prepare bank reconciliations for all Australian bank accounts and month-end balance sheet reconciliations.

    • Prepare and post routine and month-end journal entries to keep the General Ledger accurate and up to date.

    • Assist with General Ledger account analysis during month-end close.

    • Process supplier bills and review entries in the accounts payable ledger.

    • Process and review company card transactions, including reconciliations in the accounting software.

    • Assist with transaction uploads and updates across the finance systems.

    • Support month-end and year-end close, including audit activities and ad hoc finance team priorities.

What you'll bring

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or a Business degree with an accounting major.

    • Strong understanding of accounting concepts, with excellent attention to detail, sound judgement and a focus on accuracy.

    • Strong Excel and accounting software skills; experience with NetSuite and/or Xero is highly regarded.

    • Previous accounting experience through an internship or similar role is preferred; exposure to a multi-entity or group finance environment is a plus.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team and under deadlines.
