As an Assistant Category Manager, you’ll help drive the commercial performance of a category across some of Australia’s best-known retail brands. Working closely with a Category Manager, you’ll use customer and market insights to shape promotions, support category strategy, build supplier partnerships and deliver strong sales and profit outcomes.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

  • Help shape and deliver category and promotional strategies
  • Use customer, shopper and market insights to identify growth opportunities
  • Drive category sales, profit and promotional performance
  • Build strong commercial partnerships with key suppliers
  • Support supplier negotiations and joint business opportunities
  • Partner with Marketing and eCommerce to deliver customer trade plans
  • Analyse performance and turn data into clear commercial actions

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you: 

  • 3+ years’ experience in promotions, buying, category or a related commercial role
  • Strong understanding of category management principles and commercial drivers
  • Confident using customer data and insights to inform commercial decisions
  • Experience working with suppliers and stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes
  • Strong Excel and analytical capability
  • An understanding of P&L drivers, sales, profit and commercial performance
  • Drinks industry knowledge is desirable, but not essential
