Company Description

Truckline, part of Bapcor's Commercial Vehicle Group (CVG), is seeking an Assistant Category Manager to join our Category & Product Management team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who combines strong product knowledge with commercial awareness and a passion for supporting business growth.

Working closely with the Segment Manager, you'll help drive the performance of a key truck product segment through product ranging, supplier management, sales analysis, branch support and category development initiatives.

Job Description

This is a diverse role that blends product management, supplier engagement, data analysis and branch support.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the growth and profitability of a key truck parts segment
  • Providing timely support to the branch network on product and technical enquiries
  • Assisting with stock ranging and range extension programs
  • Managing supplier relationships and identifying buying opportunities
  • Conducting competitor analysis and market research
  • Supporting pricing decisions and supplier price file management
  • Assisting with product selection and inventory decisions for Distribution Centres
  • Preparing monthly reports and performance analysis
  • Working closely with Marketing to support promotional strategies
  • Supporting branch range reviews and stock recommendations

Qualifications

You may currently be a:

  • Parts Interpreter
  • Senior Parts Interpreter
  • Product Coordinator
  • Product Specialist
  • Category Support Officer
  • Internal Sales Specialist within the automotive aftermarket

To be successful, you'll bring:

  • Automotive aftermarket, truck parts or commercial vehicle experience
  • Strong product knowledge and commercial awareness
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong Excel and reporting capability
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach

Highly Regarded

  • Experience in category management or product management
  • Truck, heavy vehicle or aftermarket parts experience
  • Supplier management experience
  • MoPro ERP exposure
  • EPC experience
  • Exposure to pricing, inventory or product ranging decisions
