Wollongong Private Hospital is a 171 bed private hospital operated by Australia's largest private hospital operator, Ramsay Health Care, is set in the heart of Wollongong's Medical Precinct.  It features state of the art equipment, facilities and patient services setting a benchmark for healthcare facilities in the Illawarra. Wollongong Private Hospital provides all major services including an intensive care unit, ten operating theatres, cardiac and vascular Labs and an Endoscopy suite.  Surgical specialties include Cardiothoracic, Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, interventional cardiology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, Head and Neck, Gynaecological, Urology, Colorectal, upper GI, General, Vascular and Plastics.

Job Description

Wollongong Private Hospital is seeking a motivated and compassionate Assistant in Nursing to join our team on a casual basis. You will work across various departments, assisting with patient care.

About the Role

You will support experienced nurses and the multidisciplinary team in a high acuity environment. This is a great opportunity to build your clinical skills and work as part of a dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living including hygiene, mobility, and nutrition
  • Support nursing staff with routine clinical tasks and patient observations
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive ward environment
  • Provide emotional support and compassionate care to patients and families
  • Assist with patient transfers and mobility
  • Accurately document care and communicate changes in patient condition

About You

  • Minimum 12 months' experience as an AIN in an acute setting
  • 2nd year undergrad Nursing or Diploma in Nursing student 
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide compassionate care to patients with complex medical needs
  • Commitment to maintaining patient dignity and confidentiality
  • Flexibility to work across a 7-day rotating roster
