Job Description

This role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.

Your opportunity

As an Associate Director, you will play a key leadership role within the team, combining client ownership, strategic advisory, and people leadership to drive both client and business outcomes.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of tax and accounting solutions across a diverse portfolio including privately owned businesses, family groups, SMEs, trusts, partnerships, and international structures
  • Act as a trusted advisor, building strong client relationships and leading high-value engagements from planning through to delivery
  • Take ownership of a significant client portfolio, including leading meetings, presentations, and strategic discussions with senior stakeholders
  • Oversee and review complex compliance and advisory work, ensuring technical excellence and commercial value
  • Drive strategic advisory engagements, including structuring, growth initiatives, and business transformation projects
  • Collaborate across KPMG to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary solutions
  • Contribute to business development, identifying opportunities to grow client relationships and expand the practice
  • Lead, coach and inspire a team, fostering a high-performance, inclusive and collaborative culture
  • Play a key role in resource planning, team development, and performance management, supporting capability uplift across the team

Your Experience

  • Proven experience at Senior Manager or Associate Director level within a professional services or advisory environment
  • Strong background in private business tax, accounting, and advisory services
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex client engagements and stakeholder relationships
  • Track record of leading, coaching and developing teams
  • Experience across a mix of compliance and advisory work, including structuring and mid-market client issues
  • Strong commercial acumen with an ability to contribute to business development and growth initiatives

Qualifications

CA/CPA  completed.
