A well-regarded commercial law practice is looking to add an Associate to its growing Restructuring & Insolvency team in Sydney.


This is a strong opportunity for a lawyer looking to build depth in complex restructuring, special situations and insolvency matters, working closely with experienced practitioners in a collaborative national team.


The Opportunity

You will be involved in a broad mix of restructuring and insolvency work, advising a diverse client base including financial institutions, corporates, funds, investors and insolvency practitioners.


The role offers exposure to both advisory and transactional matters, with opportunities to work across restructures, workouts, complex financings and distressed scenarios.


You will work closely with senior lawyers while also taking ownership of discrete workstreams, developing both your technical capability and client-facing skills.


The Work

Your work will include:

  • Advising on restructures, workouts and distressed situations
  • Supporting complex financing and special situations matters
  • Acting across formal insolvency processes and related advisory work
  • Assisting on matters involving lenders, corporates, funds and directors
  • Working on multi-stakeholder engagements requiring commercial solutions

About You
  • 3–5 years’ experience in restructuring & insolvency, banking & finance, or a related practice
  • Exposure to financing or lending work, with an interest in distressed scenarios
  • Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
  • Commercially minded with a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build internal and external relationships
  • Strong time management and ability to work across multiple matters
