The Opportunity
A leading national firm is seeking a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join its Sydney-based Employment & Workplace Relations practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute employment lawyer who enjoys working closely with clients on strategic, complex, and often sensitive workplace matters.
You will play a key role in advising employers across the full employment lifecycle, partnering with clients to deliver pragmatic, business-focused advice while contributing to the continued growth of a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Advising on employment contracts, policies, and workplace frameworks
- Providing strategic advice on discrimination, termination, and workplace investigations
- Managing employment-related disputes and dispute resolution processes
- Advising on regulatory developments and compliance obligations
- Supporting clients through complex employment and industrial relations issues
- Collaborating closely with partners and mentoring junior lawyers
About You
This role will suit a lawyer who:
- Has 5+ years’ PQE in employment law within private practice
- Brings strong technical expertise with a commercial, client-first mindset
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment and manages deadlines effectively
- Communicates confidently with both internal and external stakeholders
