Associate – Supply Chain & Logistics Advisory, ANZJob Description Summary
A hands-on supply chain advisory role focused on solving real-world operational challenges for clients. This role combines practical supply chain experience with structured problem-solving to design and deliver improvements across networks, operations, and real estate footprints.Job Description
About the Role:
Operational Problem Solving (Core Focus)
- Work with clients to understand how their supply chains actually operate - through site visits, stakeholder discussions, and hands-on diagnostics.
- Identify inefficiencies across warehousing, transport, inventory, and fulfilment - and develop practical, implementable solutions.
- Apply structured thinking to breakdown complex operational problems and define clear improvement pathways.
Supply Chain Design & Improvement
- Support projects across network design, footprint strategy, warehouse layout and operational optimisation.
- Use data and analysis to support decision-making.
- Translate operational insight into recommendations that balance cost, service and real-world constraints our clients face.
Client Engagement & Delivery
- Work closely with clients on-site and in workshops to understand challenges and test solutions.
- Communicate clearly and practically, focusing on what can be implemented - not just what looks optimal on paper – alongside our ANZ market teams.
- Contribute to project delivery, taking ownership of workstreams and outputs.
Commercial Exposure & Growth
- Support proposals, pitches, and client discussions from the outset and as the SCLA capability grows in Australia.
- Work alongside C&W’s Logistics & Industrial teams to connect supply chain challenges with real estate solutions.
- Gain exposure to how consulting work is shaped, sold, and delivered.
About You:
Hands-On Supply Chain Experience (Essential)
- 3–5 years’ experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations (e.g. warehouse, transport, manufacturing, distribution).
- You’ve seen how operations work in practice — not just in theory or models.
- Comfortable being on-site, asking questions and understanding how things actually run.
Problem-Solving Mindset (Critical)
- Naturally curious - you ask “why does it work this way?” and “how could it be better?”
- Able to break down problems and think through practical solutions.
- Not just analytical - you focus on what is realistic and implementable.
Consulting / Communication Potential
- Able to structure your thinking and communicate clearly (written and verbal).
- Comfortable working with stakeholders and contributing to client discussions.
- An interest in moving into a more advisory, client-facing role.
Analytical Capability (Supporting Skillset)
- Comfortable working with data (Excel, etc.) to support analysis and decision-making.
- Able to interpret data and draw insights - utilising our existing in-house team for complex modelling.
- Exposure to tools like Power BI or network design software is a bonus, not essential.
Mindset & Attributes
- Keen to learn and develop within a growing, entrepreneurial team.
- Enjoys variety - from site visits and client interaction to occasional analysis and problem solving.
- Interested in how supply chain decisions translate into real estate decisions.
